PHILLIP LIM x THE PROVERBS: DIY
Tuesday June 19, 2012

First and foremost, I try to refrain from posting about fashion designers. I feel all the other blogs in the world cover the topic enough. However, Phillip Lim has become quite fascinating to me. Especially, in his Menswear FW 2012-2013. The show opened up with a knitted white sweater and white pant ensemble, plucking at my heartstrings immediately. The pixelated fabric used to create a coat and sweater in the line, made a clear visual. Lim is very clever when it comes to the little details of a look. As he use a simple temporary skin decoration called Henna. Which can be shown on the pentacles of each models (pointer and ring) finger. The detail is seen as a leading trend for this fall/winter season. Like most fashion gurus, I draw inspiration from several designers. Even though, I try not to (I know it is impossible...). Lim's idea of incorporating henna in his line, inspired me to re-design my own. The way I did that was by using Liquitex Acrylic in white and black; in addition, to a Beste brush. The width or sizing is a personal preference. I find this DIY to be handy when you need the perfect finger accent to complete your look. With that said, I hope you guys will enjoy this concoction. Have a wonderful day!
